CO2 Machining Fluid Systems
Our CO2 machining fluid technology provides selective cooling-lubrication for precision machining processes. Systems utilize patented and patents-pending CO2 machining fluid technology for both off-set and through-tool coolant delivery schemes.
All systems utilize liquid carbon dioxide as a coolant base stock and microscopic amounts of virtually any type of lubricant additive (adjustable from 30 to 120 mls per hour) may be combined to form a wide range of cooling-lubricating machining fluid compositions – on-the-fly! For off-set spray coolant applications, one or more (coaxial, Coanda or coaxial-Coanda) CO2 composite spray applicators may be employed to form controllable combinations of operator-adjusted or robot-directed cooling and lubricating machining sprays.
CO2 coolant systems are useful for a variety of machining applications; however these systems are particularly advantageous for machining challenging materials that exhibit poor thermal conductivity, stringy chip formation, abrasiveness, and/or extreme hardness. Machining speeds and feed rates, tool life, and surface finish are typically improved significantly by changing from conventional cooling-lubricating processes to our CO2 machining fluid technology. Moreover, these systems can be adapted to virtually any existing machining platform and processes including turning, drilling, reaming, milling, stamping, and threading.
Stand-alone CO2 coolant systems are available from our OEM selling partner - Cool Clean Technologies - for augmenting existing machining fluid system capabilities. We also offer our CPU™ OEM Solutions systems for developing and deploying fully-integrated machining center retrofits, robotic machine tending systems, and for new OEM machining tools and aftermarket OEM product opportunities.
